Rain on your Disney trip is not ideal, but it goes better when you’re prepared and know what to expect. These are the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure that close when it rains. They close for the safety of guests and cast members.
Mad Tea Party
Mad Tea Party is a spinning ride in Fantasyland. It is trackless and becomes unsafe when it gets wet. It is covered at other Disney parks so that the rain does not affect it.
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Storybook Land Canal boats also closes in the rain for safety reasons. The boats would be slippery for guests when getting on and off of the ride.
Alice In Wonderland
Alice In Wonderland closes when it rains at Disneyland. Part of this ride is outdoors and so is the line that guests wait in.
Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters
Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters is a Cars Land ride that has to close in the rain. It is uncovered and trackless.
Main Street Vehicles
Main Street Vehicles are vehicles that drive down Main Street, USA in Disneyland park. They stop doing this when it is raining.
Goofy’s Sky School
Goofy’s Sky School is a completely outdoor attraction, so it has to close when it is raining for safety reasons.
Jumpin’ Jellyfish
Jumpin’ Jellyfish is in California Adventure park. It closes when there is rain and sometimes closes when it it windy too.
Golden Zephyr
The Golden Zephyr is closed more than most rides in California Adventure. It closes due to wind and rain.
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster is a Toontown attraction in Disneyland. It is outdoors and has to close when rain comes.
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes close for rain too. The boats could become slippery for guests.
Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island closes in the rain because you have to take a raft to get to it and it would be unsafe to go on the rafts in the rain.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail closes in the rain. This is most likely due to this being an area where kids run around and they wouldn’t want kids to slip and fall.
