If you’re going to Walt Disney World soon, then take note of these closures at Disney World in January 2025. Some are quick closures and other will last a bit longer.
Magic Kingdom Closing Early
Magic Kingdom will be closing early on January 30th at 4:30pm. This is much earlier than normal. It is unknown why they are closing early, so it probably for a private event, maybe for Cast Members.
Tyhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon is closed for maintenance and is expected to remain closed for all of January 2025. Hopefully it will be reopening soon.
Astro Orbiter
Astro Orbiter in Magic Kingdom will start a refurbishment and close on January 13th. It should be reopening sometime in the summer.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closing on January 6th for an extensive refurbishment. The extent of it is unknown at this time. It is expected to be closed for a year.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
A new show called The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is coming to Hollywood Studios. It is closed and should be opening sometime in the summer. It is replacing an old show called Voyage of the Little Mermaid.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros
Gran Fiesta Tour in EPCOT will be closing on January 6th and reopening on March 15th. They will be doing some refurbishments to the attraction.
Hall Of Presidents
Hall of Presidents in Magic Kingdom will be closing on January 20th to make some changes. This happens every time there is a new US president.
Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids is closing January 6th for seasonal maintenance. It is expected to reopen in March.
Test Track
Test Track has been closed since June 2024 and will not be reopening in January. It should be reopening sometime in 2025 with major changes.
TriceraTop Spin
Dinoland USA is going to be permanently closing this year, with phase 1 beginning in January 2025. The attraction TriceraTop Spin is part of phase 1 and will close for good on January 13th.
Fossil Fun Games
Fossil Fun Games is another thing in Dinoland in Animal Kindom that will be closing permanently on January 13th.
Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures
Chester & Hester’s is the last thing in Dinoland that will be closing on January 13th. The Dinoland closures are to make room for a new Tropical Americas land that will include an Encanto attraction and an Indiana Jones attraction.
