Disney vacations are magical no matter what hotel you stay at, but they’re a little extra magical when you’re staying at a Disney hotel.
In this post I’m going to share with you the top reasons to stay on-site at Disneyland.
It’s more expensive to stay at Disney hotels than off-property hotels, so it can be hard to decide if the splurge is worth it for you.
Hopefully this will help you decide whether you think it’s worth it to stay on-property at Disneyland or not.
The Disneyland Resort has three hotels. They are the Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and The Grand Californian.
1. Early Entry
One of the biggest perks of staying on-property is that you get early theme park entry. There are certain days where it’s for Disneyland park and other days it is for California Adventure park.
Early entry is where hotel guests get to enter the park 30 minutes before it opens to the rest of the guests for the day.
2. You’re Close To The Parks
When you stay at these hotels you are super close to both Disneyland and California Adventure. You can easily walk to both parks and Downtown Disney from any of the three Disney hotels.
This saves a lot of time so you don’t have to Uber, wait for a shuttle, or park at Disneyland.
3. Disney Themed Rooms
Does it get any cuter than a Disney themed room to stay in? I don’t think so!
The Disneyland Hotel has some rooms with a Disneyland Castle and fireworks that light up and are insanely magical.
The Pixar Place Hotel has pictures of Pixar characters in the rooms. It’s so cute and fun for kids and Disney lovers of any age.
4. Nice Pools
These hotels have big, beautiful pools. Other hotels have nice pools too, but the Disney ones are really amazing.
They are great for using to cool off on a rest day from the parks when it’s hot outside.
5. Character Dining
You don’t have to stay at a Disney hotel to do character dining at one of them, but it is a lot more convenient to be staying at the same property as the character dining you want to do.
The Disneyland Hotel has character dining at Goofy’s Kitchen. This is so fun and lively. We went to it on our last trip and plan to go on every trip now.
The Grand Californian has character dining at Napa Rose and at Storyteller’s Cafe. We’ve done the one at Storyteller’s Cafe and it’s fun.
We’re planning to do the Princess breakfast at Napa Rose on our next trip!
6. Good Dining Options On-Site
All three of the Disneyland hotels have restaurants on-site. This makes it so convenient to grab a quick bite or you can do a sit-down meal.
It’s nice to do this without leaving your hotel.
7. Wake Up Calls From Characters
It’s not uncommon for hotels to offer complimentary wake up calls, but what makes it unique at the Disneyland hotels is that you’ll get your wake up call from a Disney character!
The only downside in my opinion is that you cannot choose which character will call. I know my kids would love it, but be a little disappointed if it’s not their favorite character.
8. You’re Right In The Magic
When you’re staying at a Disney hotel you feel the magic everywhere you go. From the lobby to the pools, gift shops, restaurants, rooms and more.
This magical feeling and experience really cannot be beat.
