Halloween Time

Halloween time at Disney World is in full swing for all of September. This means decor (especially on Main Street in Magic Kingdom), Halloween treats at the parks and hotels, Halloween merch in the shops, and more.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be on September 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, and 30th. Magic Kingdom will close at 7pm on those nights.

Crowds

Crowds are moderate at Disney World in September, which is lower than the summer months. Crowds are expected to pickup in October though, and they are high in December.

Weather

September is hurricane season in Florida. This means there is more rain and higher chances for hurricanes. The weather will also be hot. Wear shorts and a shirt and bring a good poncho for when the rain and thunderstorms roll in.

Ride Closures

Ride closures for the month of September include Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which will be closed until 2026. The Frontierland station for the Walt Disney World Railroad is also closed right now. Spaceship Earth is closing at the end of August and a reopening date has not been announced.

The Boneyard is Permanently Closing

The Boneyard is a play area for children that is located in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. It is going to permanently close on September 2nd. DinoLand USA will all be closing because a new Tropical Americas land is coming to this area.

Other Closures

The water park Blizzard Beach is closing for maintenance on September 8th. Typhoon Lagoon will still be open though. Also, Starbucks at West Disney Springs is currently closed. Free Water Park Admission For Resort Guests

Guests staying at Disney World Resort hotels have access to free water park admission on the day they check-in to their hotel. This is for the Disney World water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. It will apply to whichever one is open and as long as they are not at capacity.

EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will go for all of September and end on November 22nd. This is a long festival that features special food, events, and more. You need a ticket to get into EPCOT, but do not need another ticket for the festival.

Eat To The Beat Concert Series

The Eat to the Beat Concert Series is part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. The concerts are in the America Gardens Theatre with showtimes being 5:30pm, 6:45pm, and 8pm. There are different performers each day and you can check the schedule on the event website.

Last Chance for Permanently Closing Attractions

If this is your last vacation to Disney World for a while, then make sure you experience it for the last time. All of DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom, including DINOSAUR, will be permanently closing in early 2026.
