If you have a Disneyland trip or Disney World trip coming up, you might want to add a rest day to it. A rest day is where you take a day off from going to the theme parks.
Rest days are a great way to relax and get rejuvenated before hitting the parks again.
You might be wondering what to do on your rest day though so you can still have a little fun.
This post has a great list of things to do on a Disney rest day!
1. Go To The Pool
Disney hotels have amazing pools at them! If you’re stay on-property, you’ll definitely want to spend some time exploring your resort and checking out the pool.
Going to the pool is also fun if you are stay off-property as many of the other hotels have nice pools too.
Go for a swim, get a drink by the pool, or just lay out and enjoy the Disney vibes.
This is a really fun way to cool off from the heat and not have to go too far from your hotel.

2. Character Dining
Character dining is one of my favorite things to do! It gives you a fun Disney experience without having to go into the parks.
Disneyland only has 4 options for character dining, while Disney World has a lot more.
There is character dining in some of the parks, but most of it is at the Disney hotels.
We love the character dining for breakfast at Storyteller’s Cafe in The Grand Californian at Disneyland.
3. Explore The Resorts
Disney resorts are so nice and beautiful. You can easily spend a few hours or even a day walking around them, shopping at the gift shops, and eating at the restaurants.
4. Go Shopping
Let’s be real, shopping at Disney is way too fun! They have so many cool and unique items.
It’s so fun to shop for yourself and get souvenirs and treats to remember your trip.
If you’re vacationing at Disneyland, World of Disney in Downtown Disney is a really fun, big place to shop.
If you’re at Disney World, you can go to Disney Springs or shop at the different Disney resort gift shops.
5. Water parks
Sadly, there are no water parks at Disneyland, but Disney World has 2 that are a lot of fun.
They’re Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. They might not feel like a true way to rest, but visiting them is a lot more relaxing than the theme parks.
It’s also a great way to cool off on a hot day and still get your Dole Whip fix.
6. Go to the beach
Disney World and Disneyland are both not super far from beaches.
You can take an Uber and head to the beach for a day to get in some relaxing time.
