Are you planning a Disney trip and eager to meet the iconic Disney character Mickey Mouse?
Meeting Mickey can be a highlight of any Disney vacation, but you’ll want to understand what to expect during your meet and greet.
While Mickey is thrilled to greet guests and create magical moments, there are a few things he can’t do with guests.
1. Holding Babies
For safety reasons, Mickey is not allowed to hold babies or children during meet-and-greets. However, guests can still capture adorable photos with Mickey nearby or you can hold your baby and be in the picture too!
We’ve held our babies next to Mickey and the pictures turn out super cute!
2. Signing Body Parts
While Mickey is happy to sign autograph books or keepsake items, he cannot sign anything directly on guests’ bodies.
Have your autograph books and pens ready for Mickey to use so you aren’t searching for them during your time with him.
3. Giving Gifts
Mickey is unable to give gifts to guests, even if the guest brings the gift for Mickey to give.
This is to make things fair. If Mickey gives your child a gift, but no one else, then the other kids in line will feel left out.
4. Meet You At Anytime
While Mickey is eager to meet guests, his busy schedule may prevent him from being available for meet-and-greets at all times.

5. Choosing Poses
You can’t always tell Mickey exactly what pose you want him to do for your picture. This is to avoid anything inappropriate or suggestive.
You can ask for certain poses that are not inappropriate, but it is not guaranteed that he will do them. Don’t worry though, he always chooses cute poses for your photos!
6. Gender Reveals
Mickey Mouse will not help you with your gender reveals.
This is in case the parents are disappointed with what the gender is. Mickey can’t disappoint people!
7. Hold Your Plushes
I’ve heard from a few people that Mickey cannot hold your plushes.
On our last trip my son and daughter had Mickey and Minnie Mouse plushes and Mickey did take them and hug them, but my kids didn’t ask him to. So I think you can’t ask Mickey to do this and it’s up to him if he wants to or not.
8. Stay For A Long Time
Mickey is a very popular character to meet in the Disney parks, which often results in a long line to see him.
Mickey cannot spend a ton of time with each guest, so try to keep your interaction to a couple of minutes to keep the line moving along.
9. Talk To You
Mickey Mouse is what’s called a fur character and fur characters cannot talk to you when you meet them. This would be a problem because his mouth wouldn’t move.
Other characters, like princesses are face characters and they can talk to you since you can see their face and their lips moving.
Conclusion
Meeting Mickey Mouse is an unforgettable experience for Disney park guests.
By knowing what to expect and what not to expect during your time with him, you will not have any disappointments.
So, prepare your autograph books and cameras, and get ready to create those memories with Mickey Mouse!
