These are the ride closures at Walt Disney World in December 2025. It’s good to know about them to plan your trip around the closures. More can always pop up and be added to the list, so I will update this if any are.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a popular ride in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It closed in August for some major upgrades and is expected to reopen sometime in 2026.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a thrilling roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It closed at the beginning of 2025 for a big refurbishment. It should reopen sometime in 2026, but a date for the reopening has not been announced yet.
Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom is currently closed. It should be reopening sometime in December, but Disney World has not said the reopening date yet.
Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station
The Walt Disney World Railroad is currently open, but the Frontierland station of the railroad is closed. It is still running between Main Street, USA and Fantasyland though.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is one of the Disney World water parks. It is currently closed right now for seasonal maintenance. Typhoon Lagoon is open though.

Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short With Mickey & Minnie in Hollywood Studios is currently closed. It says that it will reopen later this year, so it should be reopening sometime in December.
