There are a lot of exciting new lands coming to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in the next several years. I’ll tell you everything we know about them so far.
Villains Land
Villains Land will be in Magic Kingdom in Disney World. The official name of the land is Villains Land. It will be 14-17 acres big, about the size of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It will have a Maleficent roller coaster where you will go through a briar around her mountaintop fortress. The second ride is a Magic Mirror dark ride where you will be transported into the other side of the mirror. This ride will feature several villains including Evil Queen, Jafar, Cruella, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, and Scar. The land will have restaurants, shopping, and architecture inspired by villains.
Piston Peak National Park
Piston Peak National Park is a Pixar Cars themed area in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom at Disney World. It will have two new rides. Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along will feature Miss Fritter as a big animatronic and she will host a stampeding bash at her wild demolition derby. The second attraction is Cars Ridge Run Rally. The ride course will take you through America’s national parks, including going up Piston Peak.
Monstropolis
Monstropolis is a Monsters, Inc. themed land in Hollywood Studios in Disney World. It will feature a Monsters, Inc. suspension roller coaster (the first of its kind Disney has ever built) that will be based on the door scene from the movie. The Glob Theater will have a show called Welcome to Monstropolis. The land will have two restaurants called Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza and Harryhausen’s Restaurant. Harryhausen’s will have an octopus sushi chef animatronic. The land will also feature a gift shop called Scareporium and it will have Mosnters University Alumni Club. The story of the land is that Monstropolis is celebrating HUMAN (humans understand monsters are nice) Day and allowing humans in for the first time. This land is opening in 2027, but the coaster will not be ready when the land first opens.
Tropical Americas Land
Tropical Americas Land will be located in Animal Kingdom in Disney World. It is set to open in 2027. It is an 11 acre land. It will feature 3 attractions. The Encanto attraction is called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto. You will go inside the Casita and all of the voice actors from the movie Encanto recorded lines for this ride. The Indiana Jones ride will be called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. It will have an Indiana Jones audio animatronic that looks like Harrison Ford. The third attraction is El Carrusel de los Animalitos and it will feature Disney animals that you ride on, like Pumba, Pua, Eeyore, Kevin from Up, Kuzco, Simba, and more.
Avatar Land
California Adventure is getting a new Avatar Land. It will replace the area that currently has the ride Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. This land is based on the movie Avatar: The Way of Water. It will have an Avatar boat ride.
Avengers Campus Expansion
Avengers Campus in California Adventure is getting a major expansion with two new attractions. They are Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Both attractions will open in 2028, but exact dates have not been given yet. On Avengers Infinity Defense you will travel to Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City. This land is doubling in size with the expansion.
Tomorrowland Reimagination
Tomorrowland in Disneyland is going to be reimagined. Disney wants to honor the original Tomorrowland that Walt built, and they want to reimagine its future. Disney has not given a ton of information about all of this yet. They have said that there will be new attractions, more open spaces, and new places to dream about the future. Disney fans are excited for this and already making predictions about the changes. Many guests are hopeful that Disneyland will bring back the PeopleMover and they want Star Tours to go to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge instead.
Disneyland Forward
Disney is working on Disneyland Forward. It is unknown what exactly is in the works for all of this, but if everything goes through they are considering to add more theme parks and lands to the Disneyland Resort.
