Inside Out is one of the cutest Disney Pixar movies! It’s all about emotions and has some really lovable characters in it.
The movie is awesome, so good it even got a sequel. The facts in this post are about the first movie though.
It’s about a girl named Riley who moves from the Midwest to San Francisco and her emotions are all out of whack. Are you ready to learn some really cool Inside Out facts? Let’s go!
1. There Were Going To Be More Emotions
The writers originally had 27 emotions for the movie, but they brought it down to 5. They are Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear.
2. There Are Easter Eggs In The Orbs
Riley’s memories are in balls called memory orbs. There are some really cool ones that people have noticed in the movie!
There is an orb with the Pizza Planet Truck from Toy Story. There are also orbs with the Up house and Carl and Ellie’s wedding from Up. We’d love to know the connection Riley has to those memories!

3. The Writers Worked With Scientists
The writers of the movie worked with scientists and doctors to make sure they had everything in the movie about emotions and memories correct.
4. The Console At Headquarters Gets Bigger
The console at Headquarters is where the emotions hang out and work with Riley. The console starts out tiny at the beginning of the movie, then it grows and grows in the first few minutes of the movie.
This is because Riley gets older and bigger and has new emotions that she experiences.
5. Bing Bong Represents All Of The Emotions
Bing Bong is Riley’s imaginary friend that Joy and Sadness run into in the movie. He has a flower on his jacket that has all different colors for the petals. The different colors of petals each represent different emotions.
6. Many Of The Voice Actors Were On The Office
Joy is voiced by Amy Poehler, Disgust is voiced by Mindy Kaling, Fear is voiced by Bill Hader, and Sadness is voiced by Phyllis Smith. All of them were on the tv show The Office.
7. The Emotions Shapes Represent Their Emotions
Joy often has her arms up and looks like a star, Sadness looks like a tear drop, Anger is fire, Disgust is broccoli, and Fear is a nerve.
8. A113 Can Be Seen In The Movie
This is a common number in Pixar movies. In Inside Out it’s Riley’s new classroom number and it’s in graffiti on a wall.
A113 is seen in Pixar movies because it’s a classroom number at California Institute of the Arts, which is where a lot of the Pixar animators went to school.
9. There Is No Villain
It’s rare for a Disney movie to not have a villain, but this one doesn’t have one.
10. It Was The 15th Pixar Movie
Inside Out was Pixar’s 15th movie they released. It came out June 19, 2015.
11. It Is Different In Other Countries
The animators changed a few things in the movie to fit other countries better. In India kids love broccoli, so they changed the broccoli in the movie to be green bell peppers.
Also, Riley’s dad daydreams about football instead of hockey for countries who prefer football.
