Disneyland just announced a closure for one of its most popular rides. This closure comes every year though and was expected.
“it’s a small world” in Fantasyland will close on October 30, 2026. This is to change it to it’s a small world Holiday.
October 29th is the last day to ride the classic version of this attraction.

This is a seasonal closure that happens every year at this time so they can add the Christmas overlay.
The holiday overlay includes holiday decor and lights throughout the entire ride, a Christmas version of the it’s a small world song, and beautiful holiday lights added to the exterior facade of the attraction.
it’s a small world Holiday officially opens on November 13th, which is also the first day of the holiday season at Disneyland Resort.

it’s a small world Holiday will last through the entire holiday season at Disneyland. The holiday season officially goes through January 6th, but it’s a small world holiday usually stays open until mid to late January.
So here’s exactly what this closure means for guest who are visiting Disneyland soon:
- Visiting before October 30th – classic version available
- Visiting October 31st through November 12 – ride unavailable
- Visiting November 13th and later – holiday version available

Haunted Mansion Holiday is already up with its Nightmare Before Christmas overlay.
In Cars Land Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. Those rides will change to the holiday versions starting November 13th. They will not close to make the changes though.
