These are some fun facts about the Alice in Wonderland ride in Disneyland park in California. This ride is very unique and cute. It’s located in Fantasyland and is such a classic. It is very loved by people of all ages. I’m going to tell you some cool facts about the ride that will make it extra fun to ride next time since you’ll now know all about the ride.
It Still Has The Original Ride Vehicles

Many Disney rides have gotten new ride vehicles during refurbishments, but Alice in Wonderland still has its original ride vehicles from when the attraction first opened. They have gone through several refurbishments and still look like cute little caterpillars.
It Was The First Dark Ride of a Full-Length Movie To Open After Park Opening

The Alice in Wonderland attraction opened on June 14, 1958, which was almost three years after Disneyland park opened. It was the first dark ride based on a full-length animated feature film to open after the initial set of rides that Disneyland park opened with.
This Is The Only Version of This Attraction

A lot of rides at Disneyland are also at other Disney parks around the world, but Disneyland in California is the only Disney park to have the attraction Alice in Wonderland. A lot of Disney parks have Mad Tea Party, which is another ride based on this movie, but none have this classic dark ride. So if you want to experience it, you have to go to Disneyland to do so.
The Original Ticket Booth is Still There

Disneyland rides used to have ticket booths, but now they don’t because every ride is included with your park admission. The ticket booth for Alice in Wonderland stopped operating in the 1980s, but the ticket booth is still there today and remains an iconic piece of this attraction’s history.
It’s A Two Level Ride On Top of Another Ride

The location of the ride in Fantasyland didn’t have a lot of room to work with, so you start out on the ground level, then most of the ride is on the second level. The second level is actually above another attraction, which is Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Also, this dark ride takes you outdoors, unlike other dark rides.
The Queen Of Hearts Room Is Hotter Than Others

This room pictured on Alice in Wonderland with the Queen of Hearts feels a little hotter than the rest of this ride. This is because this scene is directly above the inferno scene on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, which is intentionally a hot scene on that ride.
Hidden Mickey on the Bush

There’s a scene on the ride where the Card Soldiers are painting the roses red, but they’re getting paint everywhere. One pain splatter on top of the bush is Mickey shaped, making it a hidden Mickey. See more Disneyland ride hidden Mickeys here.
The Outdoor Part Didn’t Always Have Railings

At the end of the ride you go outside and travel downhill. This section of the ride didn’t use to have railings. In 2010 it was deemed a safety issue, so temporary railings were put in during a quick closure, then in 2014 a remodel was done and permanent safety precautions were taken.
Alice Wasn’t On The Ride

Many dark rides were originally done through the perspective of the main character from the movie, so Alice used to not be on the Alice in Wonderland attraction. This ride underwent a refurbishment in the 1980s where Alice was added to the ride. She’s not on it very much though, so a lot of it is still through her eyes.
You Can Hear Goofy’s Laugh

Goofy has nothing to do with the movie Alice in Wonderland, but he can be heard on the ride. After the Queen of Hearts yells “Off with their heads” you go through some doors and can hear Goofy laughing.
