These are all of the Walt Disney World ride closures that you need to know about for the month of October 2025. It’s good to know about these closures when planning your vacation to the most magical place on Earth.
Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids is closing on October 6th for seasonal maintenance. It is a river rapids style ride in Animal Kingdom park.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is an attraction located in EPCOT. It closed at the end of August 2025 and a reopening date has not yet been announced.
Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station
The Walt Disney World Railroad is open and operating, but the station in Frontierland is currently closed since there is a lot of construction in the area in Frontierland. The railroad is operating between Main Street, USA and Fantasyland currently.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom has been closed since January 2025. It should be reopening in early 2026. The ride got a whole new track and they have redone some other parts of the ride.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It is currently undergoing a major rehaul where it is getting a lot of new features including new ride vehicles.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach water park at Disney World is currently closed for maintenance. It is unknown when it will reopen, but Typhoon Lagoon is open in the meantime.
Possibly Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise is not currently on the closure calendar, but it usually closes sometime between the middle of October and the beginning of November. This is so Disney World can add the Christmas overlay and change it to the Jingle Cruise ride. Read the full list of Disney World closures for October here.
Upcoming Closures
Rock n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be closing in 2026. This ride is going to be rethemed to Muppets, which will open later in 2026. Read about the new rides coming to Disney World here.
Upcoming Permanent Closures
The rest of DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom is going to permanently close in February 2026. This closure is to make room for the new Encanto ride and Indiana Jones ride in the Tropical Americas Land.
