These are all of the Walt Disney World closures for January 2026 to know about. This includes rides, experiences, and upcoming closures. It’s good to know all about these closure before your vacation so you can plan around them.
Disney Skyliner
The Disney Skyliner will be closed January 25th through 31st. Disney will provide complimentary bus service for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts.
Frozen Ever After
Frozen Ever After in EPCOT will be closed starting January 26, 2026. It is expected to reopen in February. The ride is getting updated with new audio-animatronics that will closer resemble the ones in Hong Kong Disneyland.
The Fjording Shop
The Fjording Shop in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT is also closing January 26th. The reopening date is to be determined, but will likely be in February when Frozen Ever After opens.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is currently closed and will remain closed through January. It is expected to reopen in the spring of 2026 with some major ride updates.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom closed in January 2025. It will be closed for all of January 2026 and should reopen sometime in the spring.
Blizzard Beach
The water park Blizzard Beach is currently closed. It will reopen on February 15th and Typhoon Lagoon will close on February 15th.
Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station
The Frontierland station of the Walt Disney World Railroad is currently closed with no reopening date. The railroad is still running between Fantasyland and Main Street, USA.
Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short With Mickey & Minnie
Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short With Mickey & Minnie in Hollywood Studios is currently closed. It is supposed to open in 2025, but is looking like it will open in 2026.
Animation Courtyard
Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios closed in September to undergo a major rehaul. It will reopen in 2026 as The Walt Disney Studios Lot.
Upcoming Closures
Everything in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom will permanently close on February 2, 2026. This includes the ride DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close on March 2, 2026 and reopen in the summer with a Muppets theme.
