These are all of the closures next week at Walt Disney World from August 11th through August 17th. Thankfully, there are not a lot of ride closures going on right now. A lot of closed rides reopened over the summer. There are also some closures coming soon in September that are good to be aware of.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a popular roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It has been closed since January 2025 and should be reopening in early 2026.
Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs

The Starbucks on the West side of Disney Springs is currently closed and being worked on. It was supposed to open this summer, but a reopening date has yet to be announced.
Muppets Courtyard

Muppets Courtyard was a land in Hollywood Studios. It closed permanently at the beginning of June 2025. The whole land closed, including Muppet*Vision 3D and the restaurants.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed on August 4th for a lengthy refurbishment. This attraction is supposed to reopen sometime in 2026. It is getting new ride vehicles, new blasters, new scenes, and more. Read about the changes coming to this ride and others here.
Rivers of America

The Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and Liberty Square Riverboat all closed permanently on July 7, 2025. This area is changing to Piston Peak National Park, which will be a Pixar Cars themed area with two new attractions. Read about the new rides coming to Disney World here.
Upcoming Closures

Some other upcoming closures are Spaceship Earth closing August 25th, The Boneyard closing permanently on September 2nd, and Blizzard Beach closing for maintenance on September 8th.
2026 Closures

There are some closures coming in 2026 that are good to be aware of. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close in 2026 to change to being Muppets themed, Dinosaur will close permanently in early 2026, and The Skyliner will close January 25-31, 2026.
