These are all of the main changes at Walt Disney World in the month of September 2025. They are all good to know about if you will be there so you can plan ahead and have your trip go smoothly. This includes festivals, holiday seasons, closures, and more.
Halloween Time

Halloween time will be going for all of September in Disney World. The theme park that does the most for it is Magic Kingdom with pumpkins and decor all down Main Street, USA. Disney World also has Halloween merch, Halloween menu items, and more throughout the whole season until it ends on October 31st.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be in Magic Kingdom park on September 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, and 30th. Note that Magic Kingdom park will close at 7pm on those nights. This can make the other parks busier because people will park hop to them.
Lower Crowds

September typically has lower crowds in Disney World than other months do. Kids are back in school and hurricane season keeps some people from wanting to visit the area. If you want to go during Halloween time, September is a great option because it is less busy than October is.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is going for all of September and ends on November 22nd. This festival has a lot of unique food and drinks, concerts, and more to experience. Read about the must-try foods at the Food & Wine Festival here.
Ride Closures

Ride closures for September include Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and Spaceship Earth. Also, the Frontierland station of the Walt Disney World Railroad is closed, but the ride is operating from the stations in Fantasyland and Main Street.
Other Closures

Blizzard Beach water park will close on September 8th for maintenance. Starbucks on the west side of Disney Springs is closed. Also, Animation Courtyard will close at the end of September for a major rehaul. Read about the ride closures and other closures for September here.
The Boneyard is Closing For Good

The Boneyard is permanently closing on September 2nd. This is a children’s play area in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. This is just one of the many DinoLand closures coming up.
