If you’re going to Disneyland Resort on a rainy day, things will be a little different around the parks. There are several rides that close in the rain and some that close depending on how severe it gets. These are the Disneyland rides that can close on rainy days.
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Storybook Land Canal Boats in Fantasyland has to close in the rain due to safety reasons. The boats get slippery and are unsafe for guests when boarding and off of the ride.
Mad Tea Party
Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland is trackless and uncovered. It becomes unsafe when the ride gets wet. The Magic Kingdom version of this ride is covered so that the rain does not affect it and cause it to close.
Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters
Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters is a ride in Cars Land in California Adventure that immediately closes in the rain. It is unsafe to operate since it is uncovered and trackless.
Alice In Wonderland
Also in Fantasyland, Alice In Wonderland closes in the rain. The area where you board the ride and the last section of the ride are outdoors. Also the queue that guests wait in is outdoors and uncovered.
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster is a small roller coaster in Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland. The ride and queue are fully outdoors. This ride has to close when the rain comes.
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes in Disneyland always close for rain. The boats become slippery for guests and it is unsafe to be out there in the rain.
Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island in Disneyland also closes in the rain. You have to take a raft to get to it and it would be unsafe to go on these rafts in rain.
Main Street Vehicles
Main Street Vehicles in Disneyland always close at any bit of rain. This is due to guest safety and comfort.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is an area in California Adventure park that closes in the rain. This would be unsafe when wet with ropes courses, climbing obstacles, and unpaved terrain.
Goofy’s Sky School
Goofy’s Sky School is a mousetrap style roller coaster in California Adventure park. It closes in the rain for safety reasons.
Golden Zephyr
The Golden Zephyr is in California Adventure park. It closes frequently due to wind and rain.
Jumpin’ Jellyfish
Jumpin’ Jellyfish is a ride in California Adventure park. It closes immediately when there is rain and it also frequently closes when it is windy too.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Dumbo the Flying Elephant stays open in the rain, but it will close if there is lightning. The ride is uncovered and outdoors, so you will get wet. Some of the queue is covered.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad also continues operating in the rain, unless lightning is present. Just remember that the ride and the queue are uncovered, so you will get wet.
