These are all of the new rides coming to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in the next several years. There are Disney, Marvel, and Pixar rides being added to the theme parks.
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto is an attraction in Animal Kingdom that is inspired by the movie Encanto. It will have tons of animals, the ride vehicles are pieces of furniture, and voice actors from the movie are doing the character voices in the ride. This will be in the new Pueblo Esperanza Tropical Americas Land. Disney previously said it would open i n2027, but they didn’t talk about that at the recent D23, so we will have to wait for another update. This ride will not have a height limit, so anyone can ride.
Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent
Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent is a ride coming to Animal Kingdom. It will have an Indiana Jones animatronic that looks just like Harrison Ford. On this ride you’ll explore a cenote near a Mayan temple.
El Carrusel de los Animalitos
El Carrusel de los Animalitos is an carousel in Animal Kingdom that will feature wooden animals. It will have Pua, Pumba, Timon, Eeyore, Kevin, and more Disney and Pixar animals.
Monsters, Inc. Suspended Roller Coaster
Hollywood Studios is getting a Monstropoils land and it will feature a Monsters, Inc. suspended roller coaster. Monstropolis will open in 2027, but the coaster will not be ready at the opening of the land. This is the first suspension roller coaster that Disney have ever built. It will be based on the door scene from the Monsters, Inc. movie.
Magic Mirror Dark Ride
Magic Kingdom is getting Villains Land which will feature two attractions. One will be a Magic Mirror dark ride. It will feature tons of Disney villains, including Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Scar, Cruella, and Jafar. We do not have dates for an opening on this ride or land yet.
Maleficent Roller Coaster
Villains Land will also have a Maleficent roller coaster. You will go through a briar surrounding Maleficent’s fortress on the mountain. Imagineers have said that this roller coaster will have elements that they have never used in Disney rides before.
Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along
Magic Kingdom is also getting Piston Peak National Park, a Pixar Cars inspired land. It will have two attractions. One is Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along. This ride will feature a school bus sized animatronic of Miss Fritter from Cars 3. She is hosting her wildest demolition derby yet.
Cars Ridge Run Rally
The other Piston Peak National Park ride will be Cars Ridge Run Rally. This ride will be much more thrilling. It will have different types of terrain, a snow covered mountain, geysers, and more. We do not have opening timelines for either of the Cars rides.
Journey Into Imagination
EPCOT currently has the attraction Journey Into Imagination with Figment. Disney is going to be making some big changes to this ride. They are going to be adding back Dreamfinder to be with Figment again. They took Dreamfinder out in a refurbishment in 1998. There is no timeline on when this will be happening or how long the changes will take to make.
Spaceship Earth
Disney World is going to be reimagining Spaceship Earth in EPCOT. The ride will focus more on Human connection and will have more modern touches throughout. They will add new scenes and update others. There is not a timeline yet for when this is happening.
Expedition Everest Updates
Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom is getting a major update. The Yeti animatronic is going to be coming back to life. We do not have dates yet for when this is happening.
Carousel of Progress Updates
Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom closed in July 2026 and is expected to reopen in 2027. It will have new scenes, big changes to the attraction, and new voices for mom and dad.
Coco Ride
Disney California Adventure Park is getting a Coco themed ride. It is currently being built. It will have Miguel, Hector, Dante, and more characters. This will be a boat ride where you travel through Miguel’s memories from visiting the Land of the Dead. It will not have a height requirement. It does not have an opening date yet.
Stark Flight Lab
Avengers Campus in California Adventure is getting a major expansion where the land is about doubling in size. It is getting two new attractions. One is Stark Flight Lab. Riders will sit in two person gyro kinetic pods and go through test that Tony Stark is running. This ride will open in 2028.
Avengers Infinity Defense
Avengers Infinity Defense is the other new Avengers Campus attraction. It will open in 2028. The mission of this ride is to reassemble the Avengers to battle King Thanos.
Avatar Boat Ride
California Adventure is also getting a new Avatar themed land that will have an Avatar boat ride. It will be based on the movie Avatar: The Way of Water. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue will permanently close for this land to be built. Construction has not started and likely won’t for a while.
Tomorrowland Reimagining
Tomorrowland in Disneyland is getting reimagined. The goal is to bring honor what Tomorrowland was when Walt built it. Disney has said there will be new attractions. We do not know what that will entail and we do not know if existing attractions will close to make room for them. There is not a timeline for when this is happening, but it is not immediately.
DisneylandForward
DisneylandForward is the expansion of Disneyland Resort. There is a possibility of this bringing even more new rides to Disneyland theme parks. This is a long-term plan, so we may have to wait a while to see what this turns into.
