A ride in Magic Kingdom at Disney World will be closing soon for refurbishment. This will be its first closure since opening about 2 years ago.

Splash Mountain closed for good on January 23, 2023. The ride was completely reimagined and rethemed to the Princess and the Frog.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Closure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Magic Kingdom on June 28, 2024.
Since opening it has not closed for any refurbishments. Disney World’s refurbishment calendar was recently updated to add a closure for it.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be closing temporarily starting November 2, 2026. It is currently unknown how long exactly this closure will last and what exactly they are doing to the attraction.
As of right now there is not a reopening date on the calendar. The last day to experience it for now will be November 1, 2026.
Water rides typically need more closures and maintenance than non-water rides and it is common for them to close for a bit in the winter since it’s not so hot outside.
Tiana’s Bayou General and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Attraction Photo will also be closing on November 2nd along with the ride.
More Magic Kingdom Closures
Unfortunately, Magic Kingdom has a few other closures this fall too.
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been operating between Main Street, USA and Fantasyland for more than a year while the Frontierland station is closed.
All of the railroad stations will be closed from September 28th through October 29th. It will reopen on October 30th.
Also, Carousel of Progress is currently closed and has been since July 2026.
This is expected to open sometime in 2027, but an exact date has not been given yet. They are changing the storyline and adding new scenes to this attraction.
Other Disney World Closures

Other Walt Disney World closures include Typhoon Lagoon closing September 9th for seasonal maintenance and La Signature in EPCOT is currently closed.
Coral Reef Restaurant in EPCOT will close September 8th and the reopening date is unknown. Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short Featuring Mickey & Minnie is currently closed and should reopen later in 2026.
While Typhoon Lagoon is closed, the other water park, Blizzard Beach will remain open. The ride Slush Gusher is closed though.
Looking ahead a bit, the Disney Skyliner is scheduled to close January 24-30, 2027.
