Here’s the things you need to know if you are going to the Disneyland Resort in August 2026.
The 70th Celebration is Ending
The Disneyland 70th Celebration ends on August 9th. A few things will continue a little longer, but this will be the last day of the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade and other 70th offerings.
World of Color Happiness Changes
World of Color Happiness will be August 1st through 9th, then it changes to World of Color – ONE starting August 10th.
Paint the Night
Paint the Night is a nighttime parade. It came back for the 70th Celebration, but will continue a little longer. The last day of the parade is August 20th.
Halloween Season Begins
The Halloween season will start on August 21st. This includes the big Mickey pumpkin and decor throughout the parks, Halloween food, merch, and more.
Haunted Mansion Holiday is Back
Haunted Mansion Holiday will be back on August 21st. It will stay this way through the Halloween and Christmas seasons, then change back in early 2027.
Mickey and Friends Halloween Cavalcade
Mickey & Friends Halloween Cavalcade parade starts on August 21st and will last through the Halloween season.
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash starts in August. It will be August 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, and 30th. California Adventure closes at 6pm on those nights.
New Food Offerings
The Haunted Mansion Hatbox Ghost Popcorn Bucket and Sorcerer Apprentice Mickey Cake Pop will both be available starting August 13th. There will also be new and returning Halloween food items later in the month.
D23 Day at Disneyland
D23 Day at Disneyland is August 13th. There will be a special Disney Legends Cavalcade in Disneyland, Disney Jr. fun in California Adventure, and more.
Wondrous Journeys with Fireworks
Disneyland will have Wondrous Journeys with Fireworks August 1st through 20th.
Halloween Screams
Halloween Screams is a nighttime show for Halloween time. It will have fireworks 8/21-23, 28-30, and projections with no fireworks 8/24-27, 31.
Other nighttime entertainment
Other nighttime entertainment at Disneyland in August includes Fantasmic 8/1-23, Fire of the Rising Moons, Shadows of a Memory, and Tapestry of Happiness.
Weather
The average weather at Disneyland in August is sunny, highs in the mid to upper 80s, lows in the mid 60s, and rain is not expected.
Crowds
Crowds are usually high the first half of the month, then lower the second half due to kids going back to school.
Closures
Haunted Mansion will be closed August 8th through 20th. Silly Symphony Swings is closed with no reopening date.
Other Closures
Other closures are Main Street Cinema Closing 8/10, Meet Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow Closed Tuesdays & Thursdays, Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition, Chiller at Paradise Gardens Park, and the Walkway between Avengers Campus & Cars Land.
