These are the Disney World ride closures that will happen in January 2026 and upcoming closures in February and March too. These can change at many moment and more can always be added to the list with little to no notice.
Frozen Ever After
Frozen Ever After in EPCOT is going to close on January 26th and reopen in February. It is getting new animatronics that are like the ones in World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station
The Frontierland station of the Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom is closed. There is construction in the area and the station closed when the Rivers of America did back in July 2025. The Railroad is still open as a shuttle between Main Street, USA and Fantasyland.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom closed in August for some major updates. It is supposed to reopen in the spring of 2026.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed since January 2025 and is expected to reopen in the spring of 2026.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach closed in September and will be closed for all of January. It will reopen on February 15th and Typhoon Lagoon will close on February 15th. Read about other non-ride closures at Disney World in January here.
Upcoming Ride Closures
There are some upcoming ride closures beyond January that have been announced already. DINOSAUR will close permanently on February 2nd. All of DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom is closing that day to make room for a new Tropical Americas land. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is closing for good on March 2nd. It will reopen in the summer with Muppets as the theme.
