These are the Walt Disney World closures that we know about so far for fall 2025. They mainly include rides, but include other things as well. It’s good to know what the closures will be before you go on your trip so you can prepare and plan ahead around what the closures will be.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is an interactive attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It closed in August for a major refurbishment. It is getting new ride vehicles with new blasters, new scenes on the ride, and more.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a fun and exhilarating roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park. It closed in January of 2025 and will remain closed until early 2026. They are adding some cool effects to this ride.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth closed on August 25th and the reopening date for this attraction has not yet been announced. It is an attraction in EPCOT park.
Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids is a water ride in Animal Kingdom park. It is going to be closing on October 6th until sometime in December. This is for its annual maintenance.
Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station
The Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom is open, but the Frontierland Station has been closed since July and it is unknown when it will reopen. The Fantasyland and Main Street stations are still open though. If you’ll be in Disney World this fall, then read about all the things you need to know before going here.
Animation Courtyard
Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios park is closing on September 25th until sometime in 2026. It is getting a big rehaul and will have the Sorcerer Mickey hat at the entrance of it when it reopens.
Star Wars Launch Bay
Star Wars Launch Bay is in Hollywood Studios park in Disney World. It will be closing permanently on September 25th when Animation Courtyard closes. People think this area is outdated and that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a better place to go to have Star Wars experiences.
Blizzard Beach
The water park Blizzard Beach will be closing on September 8th for seasonal maintenance. It is unknown when it will reopen again. The other Disney World water park, Typhoon Lagoon, will remain open during this time.
The Boneyard
The Boneyard in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom closed permanently on September 2nd. The rest of DinoLand USA will be closing in February of 2026. This is to make room for the new Tropical Americas Land that will feature and Encanto ride, an Indiana Jones ride, and more. Read about the new rides coming to Disney World here.
Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise exact closure date has not been announced yet, but this attraction always closes sometime in the fall, usually in October, so they add the Christmas overlay and change it to Jingle Cruise for the holiday season.
