These are all of the big changes to be aware of at The Disneyland Resort for the month of September 2025. There are not a ton this month compared to other months of the year, but there is still so much fun to be had at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Oogie Boogie Bash

Oogie Boogie Bash will be on select nights in California Adventure park. Keep in mind, that on event nights California Adventure park will close at 6pm. Some people park hop from California Adventure to Disneyland at 6pm, so this can make Disneyland busier in the evening on those days.
Halloween Season

The Halloween season will be going for all of September. This includes characters in costumes, spooky decorations all over both theme parks and Downtown Disney, Halloween treats, entertainment, and so much more.
Lower Crowds

The Disneyland Resort typically experiences lower crowds in September than other months. The busy summer months are over and September is less busy than October. This does not mean the parks will feel empty though.
Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon

The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon weekend is September 4th through September 7th. A lot of Disney fans will be in the area, which can cause an increase in crowds at the parks for those dates. Read about things to know if you’re going to Disneyland in September here.
Ride Closures

There are a lot of Disneyland ride closures for September. Storybook Land Canal Boats, Casey Jr. Circus Train will be closed for the whole month. Dumbo the Flying Elephant will close September 16th and 17th. Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will close September 15th through 17th. Radiator Springs Racers is closed and will reopen on September 26th. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closing September 2nd. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue reopens September 5th. Mark Twain Riverboat will be closed September 8th-11th.
Other Closures

The path that takes guests between Avengers Campus and Cars Land is closed off right now. This is due to construction for the Avengers Campus expansion where the area is getting two new attractions. Read more about the Disneyland closures for September here.
