If you have a Disney World trip during the week of August 18th through 24th, then these are all of the important things to know before you go. This includes events, ride closures, and more. You’ll want to know all of this to plan your vacation so it’s super fun and so you can make sure you do everything you want.
Halloween Season
The Halloween season at Disney World has begun and will be in full swing this week. This means Halloween decor on Main Street, Halloween treats available, Halloween merch in the shops, and more.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be in Magic Kingdom on August 19th, 22nd, and 24th. Magic Kingdom will close at 6pm on those nights and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be 7pm to 12am.
Weather
The weather for this week will be hot and humid. You can expect sun on Monday and Tuesday, then some thunderstorms the rest of the week. Dress for hot weather, like shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Make sure you bring a poncho too so you’re prepared when the rain comes.
Crowds
Crowds for next week are expected to be moderate at Disney World. A lot of kids are back in school now, but some still aren’t. Also, people are excited about the beginning of the Halloween season and want to go experience that.
Ride Closures
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom are both closed for big refurbishments. The Walt Disney World Railroad station in Frontierland is closed, but the railroad is still accessible from Main Street and Fantasyland. Read more about all of the closures for this week here.
Other Closures
The Starbucks that is located on the West side of Disney Springs is currently closed and should reopen somewhat soon.
Parades
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is a new nighttime parade every night in Magic Kingdom. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is on August 18th, 20th, 21st, and 23rd in Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade will be on the nights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Nighttime Shows
Fantastmic and Wonderful World of Animation will be every night in Hollywood Studios. Luminous the Symphony of Us is nightly in EPCOT. Happily Ever After will be on August 18th, 20th, 21st, and 23rd in Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will have Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular on the nights of the event.
