13 Disney World Splurges You Won’t Regret

Published by Elizabeth Morgan on November 23, 2024

Disney World is magical no matter what you do, but if you’re celebrating something extra special or just looking to do something you’ve never done, then you’ll want to do some of these Disney World splurges.

Stay At A Disney Hotel

Disney World has a wide variety of on-property hotels that are in different price ranges. These are nice to stay at because you get early entry into the theme parks and easy transportation to them. Some really nice hotels to splurge at are Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Character Dining

Character dining is so magical since you get to eat fun foods, like Mickey waffles, and you can meet and interact with Disney characters during your meal. These meals are not cheap, but they are worth it, especially if you have little kids.

Dessert Party

Dessert Parties are where you go to a private area to eat and have drinks, then you watch the fireworks from there. These are nice because you don’t have to stand and wait for a good viewing spot and you won’t have anyone blocking your view. Adult prices range from $119-129 and children are $75 each.

VIP Tour

VIP tours are a big splurge! You’ll have a private tour guide take you around and share info with you and you’ll get Lightning Lanes for rides. VIP tours cost $450 to $900 per hour and you’ll need to have a reservation before you go.

Wild Africa Trek

Wild Africa Trek is a private tour that you do in Animal Kingdom park where you’ll get close to the animals in the park, eat some food, and have a VIP tour guide. This costs $219-229 per person.

Memory Maker

Memory Maker is a great add-on for people who cherish pictures from their trip. This will allow you to have all of the professional photos and ride photos from your trip in your Disney app.

Park Hopper Tickets

Park Hopper tickets allow you to go to multiple Disney World theme parks in the same day. This is not a massive splurge, but it does cost extra and can add up quickly depending on how many people you’re traveling with.

Build A Droid

At Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge you can customize and build a droid of your own. This is in Hollywood Studios. This costs $119.99 per builder and is for people age 3 and up. You’ll need to get a reservation before going.

Scuba Diving

In EPCOT you can Scuba Dive! The tour is called EPCOT Seas Adventure DiveQuest and it costs $229-249 per person. You’ll need a reservation and a park ticket for that day too.

Spa Day

If you want to relax a little, treat yourself to a spa day at one of the Disney World hotels. You do not need to be a hotel guest to book spa treatments at them. Doesn’t a massage sound amazing in the middle of your Disney World trip?

Club Level

Deluxe Walt Disney World resorts have the option of booking a Club Level room. This will give you access to an exclusive lounge with daily breakfast, dessert and wine in the evenings, and refreshments.

After Hours Events

Disney World has many after hours events throughout the year including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. These are separate ticketed events and the parties start in the evening after the park closes.

Private Fireworks Cruise

Private fireworks cruises are on boats in Bay Lake that you can watch EPCOT or Magic Kingdom fireworks from. They are for up to 10 people and the cost starts at $449.
